Ms. Sultzbach, more commonly known as Ms. S, is the new Upper School administrative assistant/registrar. She is replacing Mrs. Blu, who left the school after last year.
Before coming to LCDS, Ms. S worked at New School Montessori in Lancaster. Previously, she worked at Linden Hall School for Girls in Lititz.
Ms. S had always been interested in independent schools, as well as high schools, so LCDS had been her top pick for a job.
Since joining the school, she’s discovered common ground between herself and the LCDS community.
For example, as a former high school field hockey player, she likes that the sport is offered here. Even now, her love for athletics peeks into her daily life.
“I enjoy running,” Ms. S says. “I hope to coach a sport at LCDS one day.”
If she was a student at LCDS, Ms. S says that she would be interested in taking classes in the English department, specifically World Civilizations or Dr. Palazzo’s The Cultures of Medicine, Science, and Technology course.
Community-building is important to Ms. Sultzbach as well, especially with her experience from previous schools. She loves the amount of clubs that LCDS offers because it allows kids to delve into different aspects of the community.
So far, she loves the LCDS community because the students are respectful and responsible. It isn’t even limited to the students; as she says that the faculty has also been welcoming.
“Mrs. DW and Mrs. O have been wonderful in helping me,” Ms. S says.
Her favorite part about working as an administrative assistant is getting to interact with the Upper School administrative and front office team, including the College Counseling department.
“I love being able to help the College Counselors, help get kids admitted to college, and just seeing where they get in and the process of all of it,” Ms. S said.
For Ms. S, a big part of the joy of her job is helping our students become the best versions of themselves.
“It’s fun to be that adult that can help guide them,” she says.
